- Eva Longoria was one of many celebrities who spoke and were in attendance at the Democratic National Convention.
- Marco Rubio, the Republican senator from Florida, took a hard shot at the number of celebrities in attendance.
- This is pretty rich coming from a party that elected an actual reality star as president.
Eva Longoria is in the Republican crosshairs.
The former “Desperate Housewives” star made an appearance at last night’s Democratic National Convention, which of course made her the target for hatred from the political right.
But that attack is pretty hypocritical considering it’s coming from a party that put a reality star and a failed “Hollywood mogul” in the White House.
Eva Longoria Doesn’t Deserve All This Hate
Despite her good looks and notable career, Eva Longoria received her master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge, in May 2013 following three years of study. Her thesis was entitled, “Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers.”
But if you believe Florida senator Marco Rubio, she’s nothing more than an out-of-touch celebrity who doesn’t understand the struggles of “the everyday people” in the United States.

Because, after all, nobody understands the struggles of the “common man” like the millionaire son of a millionaire real estate mogul who has gold-plated everything in his New York City penthouse.
They Elected A Reality Star
Republicans seem to have a real problem with “celebrities.” Their favorite jab suggests that famous people of all stripes — athletes, actresses, rappers, whatever — are coastal liberal elites who are out-of-touch with reality and, thus, unable to relate to real Americans.
The implication, of course, is that Republicans are the “party of the people” and they understand what the average working-class American goes through.
They have some nerve going after Eva Longoria — or any other celebrity — and accusing them of being “out of touch with reality” when they put its worst offender in the White House.
